Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

I can't think of a better combination then cinnamon, sugar and cream cheese. Throw in a little vanilla and you have my full attention. This frosting recipe goes well with spice, pumpkin and... who am I kidding? It goes well with any cake or maybe straight out of the bowl.

This recipe is enough for a 13x9 sheet cake. It can easily be doubled if you need more.

4 oz room temperature cream cheese
4 cups sifted powder sugar(sifting makes the frosting fluffy and much creamier)
2 tablespoon room temperature butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup milk or cream

Mix butter and cream cheese until creamy. Add vanilla and cinnamon. Mix until well blended. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until all sugar is incorporated. Use the milk or cream if the frosting gets too thick. Use a little at a time. Cream cheese will easily become too thin.

Bisquick Add Ins

With colder temperatures and shorter days the thought of having a warm breakfast is something I look forward too. I don't always have time to stand in the kitchen and fix that warm breakfast though. I need something quick and that everyone will want to eat. Bisquick is always convenient, but I find it can always use a little help in the flavor department. Adding a little something extra can make a big difference in the taste. Here is a list of quick and tasty add ins that will make those simple pancakes so much better.
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Almond Extract
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • sliced bananas
  • Cinnamon
  • A couple tablespoons of peanut butter
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips when cooking.
  • 1/2 cup applesauce

Some of these additions can be added together like the pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Cinnamon and vanilla are also a great combination. I am thinking breakfast for dinner tonight.

Post Thanksgiving Workout

Now that we are all recovering from the high fat, high calorie and delicious meals from Thanksgiving, it is time to burn some of those extra calories. This workout is short and to the point. Try to do as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes. If you need to adjust the reps of each set, that is okay. The point is to give it your all and move. Be a sweat bee!
